School Meals / School Milk
Dinners are cooked on the premises and are of a very high standard. A choice of menu is available and we recommend that your child has a school meal. Children starting school eating school dinners, tend to be less fussy eaters and enjoy the social side of eating a meal with others. The Kitchen is able to cater for children with special individual dietary requirements such as nut allergies. Please see leaflet below for more information.
All ordering of school meals is done through SchoolGrid. From this site (app.schoolgrid.co.uk), you are required to pick your child’s lunch options in advance. To access this platform you must have a SchoolGrid account.
The current cost of meals can be found by asking at the school office. Your SchoolGrid account will need to have credit or a direct debut set up in order to make pre-orders. Payment is accepted via SchoolGrid only.
As an alternative to school meals, children may bring a packed lunch in a single plastic container clearly marked with their name. Drinks should be in cartons, plastic bottles or flasks (no tins, glass bottles or squashy bags please). Water and beakers are provided at the table. Children in KS1 are provided with fruit to eat at break time. Children in KS2 are allowed to bring in a piece of fruit for break. This needs to be wrapped separately from any packed lunch. Parents should note that packed lunches are stored in the classroom and not refrigerated. Please be careful that none of the lunch ‘leaks’ or melts! We ask that you do not include sweets in packed lunch boxes. Please ensure that the lunch does not contain nuts or foods containing nuts.
Drinking fountains are provided in all classrooms.
