Headteacher's Welcome
Dear Parents and Carers,
Hello and welcome to Fairfields Primary School and Nursery.
We are pleased that you are looking at our website with a view to sending your child to Fairfields.
I have been at Fairfields for over twenty years and am proud to have been the Headteacher here for over half that time. Many of the staff at Fairfields have spent the large majority of their career at Fairfields. Some of our staff are past pupils, or their children have attended Fairfields. We believe that this is because Fairfields is a great place to teach and learn, and pupils and parents have had good experiences here. Our highly dedicated staff will always put your child first and will do everything to inspire, encourage and value your child.
Our school is a positive place, full of exciting and interesting lessons where your child will thrive. The children are at the heart of all our decision-making and this means that we will only ever do something if we can show the benefit it will have on our pupils. For example, our school library which we have placed at the heart of our school is a key driver in promoting a love of books to the children. Reading is of course a passport to the world and we were determined to have a full lending library to enable our children to always have a book in their hands.
Our pupils are proud to attend the school. The word ‘PROUD’ defines our school spirit. Our pupils are Positive, Respectful, Organised, United and Determined. They are respectful of others and work in an organised and determined way. Everyone is united in their goal to make Fairfields an inclusive and caring school. Visitors to our school often comment on how positive the children are and how purposefully they work. Our Student Council was established nearly twenty years ago and is one of the ways in which our pupils have a united voice at Fairfields.
We have a very active Parent, Teacher and Friends Association. They are a tremendous force for good in the school and work tirelessly to raise funds to support the many activities we put on, and to pay for numerous resources to benefit the children.
We do feel that our motto: ‘One community, valuing everyone, succeeding together’, is a true reflection of our school.
I hope you will find the information on our website useful, and that it will help us to form the beginning of a successful partnership in your child's education.
Please do get in touch if you would like to come and have a tour. The children and I look forward to welcoming you to Fairfields Primary School and Nursery.
Yours sincerely,
Giovanni Gaidoni
