Years 3 & 4
In lower Key Stage 2 the children build upon the locational knowledge learned in Year 1 and 2 to begin to focus on European countries. Through the study of a region in a European country (France), children discuss the key physical, human and environmental characteristics.
Children also use fieldwork to observe, measure and record the human and physical features in the local area of Cheshunt using a range of different methods, including sketch maps, graphs, digital technologies and surveys. Classes also look to describe and understand key aspects of physical geography including rivers and the water cycle, with links and trips to the local River Lea.
