Reading Passports and Free-Reading Challenge

We have two reading initiatives which are very popular at Fairfields.

The first is our Reading Passport Scheme. The children read up to six books to complete a passport, and in return they receive a reading certificate and a badge. If they complete three reading passports, the school buys them a book of their choice! This academic year, up to the end of the spring half term 2023, we have already bought well over 100 books for the children.

Our Free Reading Challenge is for more able readers who take on the challenge of classic texts and other more challenging reads. We have a Bronze, Silver and Gold award scheme and children receive a bronze, silver or gold badge as well as a new book to read.
